What is Settle In?
Launched in 2017, Settle In serves as a multilingual, multiplatform hub for disseminating accurate and up-to-date information to newcomers. Settle In covers crucial topics related to navigating American systems, including employment, housing, and education. Users can chat with Digital Community Liaisons via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram and they can either type messages or send voice memos.
In addition to social media content, newcomers can access valuable information through the website and mobile app (preview the desktop version of the mobile app here). In partnership with Switchboard, Settle In also produces videos, web-based articles, social media live events, and more!
What’s new?
Settle In now offers social media information services in Haitian Creole on Facebook, joining existing support for Afghan, Ukrainian, and Spanish-speaking communities. The platform currently has 43,000 followers and has reached over 1.2 million people.
