What will this micro-learning series cover?
This six-session series is designed to help service providers address Afghan newcomers’ mental health concerns by ensuring they have access to technological resources. The series will focus on three scenarios, based on real experiences, with clients who engage with technological tools to support their mental health.
Is this series for me?
This introductory-level learning series is geared toward service providers who work with Afghan newcomers. It may also benefit other direct service and management staff working in refugee resettlement. No mental health or digital inclusion background is needed to join these sessions.
Why should I participate?
Upon completing this micro-learning series, participants will be able to:
Recognize common mental health concerns Afghan families encounter at different stages of their resettlement journey
Identify ways to integrate technological tools and resources in supporting Afghan newcomers seeking mental, social, and emotional health services
What is the format of the series?
This series demands a total time commitment of approximately two hours over the course of six weeks. Each session will take up from where the previous session left off, but participants may join any event in the series.
Series schedule: live virtual lunch-and-listen begins on June 10 over Zoom; sessions will continue in that format for the following six weeks.
