This event will cover the interplay of immigration and criminal law in theory and in practice. The presentation will include an overview of basic concepts in this area of law, including grounds of deportability and inadmissibility and the definition of a conviction under immigration laws. It will also feature a discussion on the ethical requirements when a potential crime is identified during the immigration filing process. This will include information on how best to avoid admissions of guilt when assisting a client.  Once registered, you will receive a Zoom calendar invite.
